We offer three share sizes over the course of a 5-month season
(mid June through October) :
- A full share box is six to twelve different items of produce each week. 2010 price $475
- Half shares are full-size boxes delivered every other week. 2010 price $375
- Quarter shares are also delivered every other week, with a smaller amount of produce. 2010 price $275
A full share should provide salads, sides, and the ingredients for most of one week's worth of cooking at home. Half and quarter shares are ideal for couples, individuals, and households that cook vegetables less often than every day. A note on quarter shares: the name is a bit of misnomer. We will not cut a head of cauliflower into quarters, for instance, but we will provide less of any items that are bagged, bunched, or otherwise come in multiples.
Every box delivery includes a newsletter with recipes to help you plan your meals, tips on storing your produce, and farm news. As a member of our farm, you will get to know all the ups and downs of growing food, while you learn what grows locally and when it is ripe. Each week's box is full of different items. The amount and variety of foods included changes as the season passes, starting out with basic salad greens, building to a peak of produce in August and September, and slowing to winter squash by the end of October. Every season is a new adventure and we hope to make it enjoyable for you.
Because we practice sustainable farming, there are no guarantees that every crop will be a success. We do not use synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides, so occasionally we lose a battle to pests and disease. But the following is a list of the basic crops you can expect to receive over the season. We grow several different varieties of each crop, for example seven types of garlic, 8 types of tomatoes, 3 types of peas, and so on.
Beef and Egg shares
We offer a limited number of beef and egg shares to our CSA members through partner farms, Meyers Meats and Pecatonica Valley. Please note that while egg shares are available at all pickup locations, meat shares are only available at our Capital Brewery and Farm pickup sites. Once you have joined as a CSA member, we will send you sign-up information for these options.

Worker shares
Worker shares, or shares with a reduced price in exchange for some labor, are available as well. We need workers, for preferably at least four hour periods, any time of day or evening. If this fits your schedule and you are interested, please contact us.

Fun stuff
Members are always welcome to visit the farm. We hope our members will come to feel connected with the origin of their food. To that end we hold two big events each year, a garlic-tasting party in August and a harvest pumpkin pick-and-carve celebration in October at season's end. In between we try to organize some work days that anyone can attend if interested.
